Collage style video always makes integrating styles of vintage artwork a challenge.
- To lay the groundwork, I first created an animated parchment paper background which loops. This gave the video a consistent background to lay down all artwork. Second, a planned color palette inspired by both the French and American flags helped to anchor the piece. Finally, I adjusted color to create more color consistency.
Being a very long animated piece, this needed to be broken up into styles of animation to hold interest and save time on postproduction.
- To create more variety in the piece, I broke this up into 3 distinct animation styles; talking head, animation, and animated text. Both the animated text and talking head saved time.
